STMicroelectronics and Rutronik have teamed up with the Hardware Academy to help you develop low power, low cost IoT solutions using the STM32 IoT Node Discovery Kit. This is a hands-on engineering session using professional hardware and software development tools. Attendees will work with multiple motion and environmental MEMS devices and low power radio modules on the STM32 IoT Node Discovery Kit to monitor the surroundings and upload the data to the cloud, where it can be viewed and plotted from an internet browser.

Drinks and pizza will be served throughout the night.
Participants will take home the STM32 IoT Node Discovery Kit for free.
The B-L475E-IOT01A2 Discovery kit for IoT node allows users to develop applications with direct connection to cloud servers. The Discovery kit enables a wide diversity of applications by exploiting low-power communication, multiway sensing and ARM® Cortex® -M4 core-based STM32L4 Series features. The support for Arduino Uno V3 and PMOD connectivity provides unlimited expansion capabilities with a large choice of specialized add-on boards.

Bring your own laptop (PC/MAC) with at least a USB port available and your own Micro USB cable.

The tools work on Windows / Mac OS / Linux. However, the workshop will focus on Windows.

Some experience of using C/C++ and MCU embedded firmware development tools is recommended.

Getting started with STM32 IoT Discovery Kit
This video describes the main components and features of the B-L475E-IOT board and shows a typical use of this platform as an IoT node using AWS to demonstrate the interactions between that node and a cloud server to build an intelligent system. The focus is put on the MQTT messages exchanges in between the IoT node and a user through AWS services. These messages contain sensors values and LED status and all the changes detected on the board.
